Scott and Bill Sanderlin, from Arizona, were two key contibutors to Mount Senario basketball. Both were excellent students and athletes.

Don Zierden and Bill Sanderlin were two captains during my seven years of coaching. Both were All Americans. Both had a tremendous desire to win and were team players.

Bill Sanderlin was one of the finest all around athletes ever to compete for the Mount Senario Fighting Saints.

Randy Mudgett was an All American from Gilman, Wisconsin. A strong rebounder and an excellent post player.

Don Zierden is currently coaching the Minnesota Lynx professional womens basketball team. He was the coach of the LaCrosse Bobcats professional basketball team. He also served as an assistant for the Detroit Pistons and an assistant for the University of Tulsa. Don was a strong team leader and has a keen basketball mind.

Mark Reuth, from Loyal, Wisconsin, was an excellent example of what it meant to be a Mount Senario basketball player. He was an excellent student, hard working, disciplined and a true team player.

Hello,

As I'm celebrating the Minnesota Vikings exciting 34-31 victory over the Chicago Bears, I took the time to remember my coaching career at Mount Senario College. The team was very successful and we gave the players a chance to travel around the country. The team competed against Division I, II and III opponents.

The college was very supportive of the athletic program, especially the basketball team. Many people from the college were instumental to the team's success including: Kerm Morgan (Dean of Students), Pam Starkey (Admissions Secretary) and Joe Sarkissian (Soccer Coach and Athletic Trainer).

We won the last game I ever coached at the college in the winter of 1981, unfortunately, it was the third place game of the District Tournament. We had lost the previous night to Viterbo College, but we came back to win our last game while making 30 out of 32 free throw attempts, including 30 in a row. It was a rewarding finish to an exciting era of winning basketball.

Have a fantastic week,

Bill
