The Detroit Red Wings defeated the Colorado Avalanche last night 8-2 to win their best of seven second round playoff series 4-0.

The four game sweep by the Red Wings puts them into the third round of the playoffs, the Western Conference Finals, where they will play the winner of the Dallas Stars/San Jose Sharks series.
